What Is Sensory Integration Training?

Sensory integration training uses games and activities to promote the coordinated development of a baby’s vestibular, tactile, and proprioceptive sensory systems, which significantly affects attention, emotion management, and motor skills.

  • Sand and Water Play: play with sand and water for a rich tactile experience
  • Crawling Tunnel: make a tunnel from a cardboard box to train spatial awareness
  • Throwing and Catching: toss and catch a large ball to build hand-eye coordination

Sensory Games for 2-3 Years

  • Jumping Through Hoops: draw circles on the ground for the baby to jump in and out
  • Swinging: stimulates the vestibular sense and promotes balance
  • Bead Stringing: builds fine motor skills and focus
  • Imitating Animals: hop like a frog or crawl like a puppy to exercise large muscles
