0-3 months: cooing sounds; 4-6 months: babbling; 7-12 months: intentionally calling mom and dad; 1-1.5 years: vocabulary of 20-50 words; 1.5-2 years: vocabulary explosion period; 2-3 years: able to speak complete sentences. Talking more with your baby, reading together, and singing nursery rhymes are all great ways to promote language development.
